At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

iParaglide Right Site Weather: Aug 29

Weather forecast for paraglider pilots in the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton areas, based on data available at 06:00.

Two low low pressure cells, one to northwest, and one to southwest, with the jet stream sandwiched between and directly overhead, brings stormy weather: heavy rainfall, high wind and thunderstorm warnings throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft southeast to 52 km/hr becoming southwest to 43 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.1C/1000ft: forecast lapse rate is suspect of being significantly less than expected actual with possibility of passing cold fronts. 

SEA 3000 ft winds southwest to 80 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft: advanced.

Sunny skies continue due to high pressure, with early smoke in select areas.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Peak lapse rate -2.1C/1000ft: novice.

Good day for paragliding in Pemberton. Chilliwack with early outflow & smoke, but should come on by 11:00.

2. Seattle Paragliding: -2.1C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Great day for Tiger for P2 pilots 10:00-20:00. 90% chances to paraglide. 

3. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.8C/1000ft: novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 09:00-20:00. 90% chances for paragliding.

4. Vancouver Paragliding: - 2.1C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. GMFT pilots at Grouse 10:00-20:00.  90% paragliding prospects.

5. Whistler Paragliding: - 2.6C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate.  Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 10:00-20:00. Prospects for paragliding 90%.

6. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced lapse rate. Local actual lapse rate may be reduced from forecast due to smoke. Wait for early outflow to end.  Woodside and Bridal for P3 intermediate pilots 11:00-20:00. 80% paragliding opportunities.

Paragliding weather forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 07:00.

Sunny skies continue due to high pressure.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Peak lapse rate -2.1C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft northeast to 19 km/hr becoming north to 13 km/hr. Peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft: intermediate.

Great day for paragliding in Pemberton and Seattle. Chillwack in outflow, but will come on late.

1. Pemberton Paragliding: - 3.1C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Great day for XC for advanced pilots. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 09:00-13:00 and 18:00-20:00 with P4 conditions 13:00-18:00. Paragliding prospects 90%.

 2. Seattle Paragliding: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Great day for Tiger for P2 pilots 10:00-14:00 and 17:00-20:00, with P3 conditions 14:00-17:00. 90% chances to paraglide. 

3. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.3 C/1000ft: novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 010:00-20:00. Proximity to ocean means sea-breeze will overpower outflow early. 80% chances for paragliding.

4. Whistler Paragliding: - 3.2.C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Strong day at Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 10:00:00-20:00. Prospects for paragliding 90%.

5. Vancouver Paragliding: - 2.1C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. GMFT pilots at Grouse 10:00-20:00.  90% paragliding prospects.

High pressure brings sunny skies. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming northwest to 28 km/hr. Peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft north-northeast to 24 km/hr.light and variable. Peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft: novice.

Good day for paragliding.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 2.3C/1000ft novice lapse rate. Actual lapse rate likely higher than forecast due to recent moisture delivery. Woodside for P2 pilots 07:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:00 with P3 conditions 14:00-18:00. Bridal may light up nicely with northwest wind aloft: P2 pilots 11:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:00 with P3 conditions 14:00-18:00. 90% chances to paraglide.

Low pressure to northwest continues to bring instability. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft east to 17 km/hr becoming light and variable. Peak lapse rate -2.2C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Peak lapse rate -3.0C/1000ft: advanced.

Marginal day for paragliding with 30-60% POP in Fraser Valley. Best prospects south in Bellingham and Seattle.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.8 C/1000ft: advanced peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 09:00-13:00 and 18:00-20:00 with P4 conditions 13:00-18:00.  90% chances for paragliding.

3. Pemberton Paragliding: - 2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Wait for early cloud to clear. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 11:00-14:00 and 18:00-20:00 with P3 conditions 14:00-18:00. Watch for potential OD. 50% chances to paraglide.

4. Whistler Paragliding: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Wait for early cloud to lift. Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 11:00:00-20:00. Prospects for paragliding 50%.

5. Vancouver Paragliding: - 2.2C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Wait for cloud to lift and early outflow aloft to end. GMFT advanced P4 pilots at Grouse. 13:00-20:00.  40% paragliding prospects.

6. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Early east wind aloft places sites in lee. Wait for lee-side to end, then watch for rock and roll conditions. P4 pilots may get a window 14:00-19:00. 40% chances to paraglide.
