At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Weather forecast for paraglider pilots in the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton areas, based on data available at 06:00.

Low pressure brings ongoing low cloud and rain. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming south to 9 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft: advanced.

SEA 3000 ft winds south to 11 km/hr becoming southwest to 15 km/hr.  Lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft: advanced.

Low Clouds and 40%-70% POP make Vancouver Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, and Seattle areas not recommended for paragliding today.

Bellingham Paragliding: Lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft: intermediate.  Mt. Blanchard may develop a blue hole today. P2 pilots 10:00-20:00 at Blanchard. Chances for paragliding 70%.

Paragliding weather forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 07:00.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft northwest to 20 km/hr easing to west to 9 km/hr. Lapse rate -1.5C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming southwest to 22 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft: advanced.

Good day for paragliding.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.   Forecast lapse rate likely higher than actual. Woodside for P2 pilots 07:00-13:00 and 18:00-21:00 with P3 conditions 13:00-18:00. Good thermal opportunities for intermediate pilots 13:00-17:00. 90% chances to paraglide.

2. Seattle Paragliding: -2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Great day for Tiger for P2 pilots 08:00-13:00 and 17:00-21:00 with P4 conditions 13:00-17:00. 90% paragliding chances. 

3. Pemberton Paragliding: - 2.8C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Smoke from fires to north may block sun and decrease actual local lapse rate. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 08:00-14:00 with P4 conditions 14:00-21:00. Chances to paraglide 90%.

4. Whistler Paragliding: - 3.0C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Actual Lapse rate likely reduced by smoke blocking sun. Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 09:00:00-21:00. 90% chances for paragliding. 

5. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9 C/1000ft: novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 09:00-20:00. Paragliding prospects 90%.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming northwest to 30 km/hr. Lapse rate -1.5C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft north-northeast to 13 km/hr becoming north to 17 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft: intermediate.

Good day for paragliding.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 2.5C/1000ft intermediate lapse rate.   Wait for early outflow to end. Woodside for P2 pilots 08:00-13:00 and 18:00-21:00 with P3 conditions 13:00-18:00. Bridal should light up nicely with northwest wind aloft and P3 conditions and soaring opportunities 13:00-20:00. 90% chances to paraglide.

2. Pemberton Paragliding: - 2.5C/1000ft intermediate lapse rate. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 08:00-14:00 then watch for increased winds aloft and P3 to P4 conditons 14:00-21:00.  Smoke from fires to north may block sun and decrease actual local lapse rate. Chances to paraglide 90% early, 70% late. 

3. Whistler Paragliding: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced lapse rate.  Actual Lapse rate likely reduced by smoke blocking sun. Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 09:00:00-21:00. 80% chances for paragliding. 

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9 C/1000ft: novice lapse rate. Blanchard sea-breeze and low altitude likely to overpower north wind aloft. P2 pilots 09:00-20:00. Paragliding prospects 80%. 

5. Seattle Paragliding: -2.4C/1000ft intermediate lapse rate. Tiger for P2 pilots 08:00-13:00 and 17:00-21:00 with P3 conditions 13:00-17:00. 80% paragliding chances.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 05:00.

YVR 3000 ft winds northeast to 20 km/hr becoming light and variable. Lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft: novice. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Lapse rate -2.9C/1000ft: advanced.

Northeast wind aloft, and in valley, places many sites in lee side early. Inland temperatures soar, with smoke carried from interior fires, yielding a high lapse rate. Strong and rough conditions mid afternoon.

1. Seattle Paragliding: -2.9C/1000ft advanced lapse rate. Good day for Tiger for P4 advanced pilots 12:00-20:00. 80% paragliding chances.

2. Pemberton Paragliding: - 3.2C/1000ft advanced lapse rate. P4 expert pilots (only) at Mackenzie. Wait for outflow aloft and in valley to end. Strong conditions, proceed or not only with caution.  P4 advanced conditions 13:00-18:00.   80% paragliding chances.

3. Vancouver Paragliding: - 1.8C/1000ft novice lapse rate. GMFT advanced P4 pilots at Grouse.  Wait for outflow aloft to subside. 12:00-21:00. Paragliding opportunities 70%.

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.0 C/1000ft: novice. Blanchard seabreeze likley to overpower early outflow in valley. P2 pilots 10:00-19:00. Paragliding prospects 70%. 

5. Whistler Paragliding: - 3.4C/1000ft XXX lapse rate.  Very strong conditions.  Wait for outflow aloft to end. Proceed or not only with caution. Blackcomb for Whistler team pilots 12:00-21:00. 50% chances for paragliding. 

6. Paragliding Chilliwack: - 3.0C/1000ft advanced lapse rate. Lee side shuts flying down in morning. Advanced P4 conditions 12:00-20:00 at Bridal.  40% chances to fly late.
