Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Low pressure with mostly cloudy skies including rain. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 11 km/hr easing to light and variable. Valley wind early west inflow to 10 km/hr building to SW inflow to 20 km/hr in Chilliwack as day progresses. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds SW to 19 km/hr. Valley winds S to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

Low pressure with mixed skies including rain or low clouds with possible sunny breaks. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming W to 15 km/hr. Valley wind early west inflow to 10 lk/hr building to gusty inflow 20-40 km/hr in Chilliwack as day progresses. Advanced peak lapse rate -3.0C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming SW to 17 km/hr. Valley winds S becoming W to 10 km/hr. Advanced peak lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft.

Low pressure with mixed skies starting with rain or low clouds, with periods of sunny breaks in afternoon. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming SW to 11 km/hr. Valley wind E outflow to 10 km/hr early becoming inflow SW to 20 km/hr in afternoon. Advanced peak lapse rate -3.3C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW at 15 km/hr and increasing to 20 km/hr. Valley winds WSW to 15 km/hr.  Advanced peak lapse rate -3.0C/1000ft.  

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Seattle: -3.0C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Tiger summit in clouds early and if it breaks in afternoon will be strong P4 conditions. Tiger for P4 pilots 1100-1800. Chances for paragliding 70%.  

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.8C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Blanchard clouded aloft early then switch to P4 conditions if it opens up. Blanchard for P4 pilots 1200-1900. Paragliding prospects 60%. 

Paragliding not recommended today in Vancouver, Chillwack, Whistler or Pemberton due to 40% POP to rain.

Low pressure with passing fronts, low cloud base, drizzle to heavy rain and possibility of thunderstorms throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft S to 35 km/hr becoming SW to 22 km/hr.  Valley wind outflow East to 20 km/hr becoming Southwest to 20. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 48 km/hr easing to 24 km/hr. Valley winds SSW to 15 km/hr.  Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.

Transitioning pressure with mixed conditions with possible sunny breaks and 40-60% POP to showers.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft ESE to 9 km/hr becoming SE to 31 km/hr.  Valley wind outflow East to 15 km/hr easing to light and variable late afternoon. Advanced peak lapse rate -2.9C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light SSE to 15 km/hr becoming S to 44 km/hr.  Valley winds SE to 10 km/hr becoming W to 15 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

With 40-60% POP and strong SE to S winds aloft developing as day progresses, a marginal day with only very narrow possible windows. Paragliding not recommended today in Vanacouver, Whistler, Pemberton, Chilliwack, Bellingham or Seattle.
