1. Paragliding Seattle: -3.0C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Seattle further south and less affected by Low. Early cloud clearing in Seattle with sunny skies forecast. Tiger Mtn. for P2pilots 1000-1300 and 1800-2000 with P4 conditions 1300-1800. 70% chances to paraglide.

Paragliding not recommended today in Chilliwack, Vancouver, Pemberton, Whistler and Bellingham due to low clud base, scattered showers to rain and 40-60% POP.  Pemberton with added risk of thunderstorm.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming NW to 10 km.hr.  Valley wind light E outflow to 10 km/hr becoming W inflow to 10 km/hr in early afternoon.  Novice peak lapse rate -2.2C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft N to 10 km/hr and becoming light and variable.  Valley winds light E to 10 km/hr becoming NW to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.6 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. With light and variable winds aloft, Pemberton should be on for Advanced pilots today allowing XC in any direction.  Forecast lapse rate is suspect of being higher than actual, looking more like a 3.0 day. Mt. Mackenzie with window for P2s early before lapse rate jacks up. P4 advanced pilots after 1400 with strong lapse rate.  Prospects for paragliding 80% early, 70% late. 

2. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.7C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Forecast lapse rate suspect of being higher thant actual, looks like a 2.5 day.  0800-1400 and 1800-2100 for P2 pilots at Woodside, with P3 to P4 conditions 1400-1800.  Bridal for P2 pilots 0900-1400 and 1800-2100 with P3 to P4 conditions 1400-1800. Chances for paragliding 90%. 

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.2C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 1000-2000.  90% chances to paraglide.

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.7C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Nice easy day for Blanchard. P2 pilots 0800-1900. Paragliding prospects 90%. 

5. Paragliding Seattle: -1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Some cloud forecast in  today.  Tiger Mtn. with light and variable winds aloft and smooth and easy climbs. P2 pilots 0800-2000. 80% chances to paraglide.

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.9 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Forecast lapse rate is suspect of being higher thatn actual but still too strong.  Paragliding not recommended.

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.6 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. 30% POP. Mt. Mackenzie with window for P2 early before lapse rate jacks up. P4 advanced pilots after 1200 with XXX lapse rate.  Prospects for paragliding 60% early, 50% late. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.9 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. 30% POP. Expect too strong conditions for paragliding. Paragliding not recommended.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies. Winds problematic in morning in Chilliwack however, with big outflow caused by E winds aloft.  

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft E to 9 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley wind light E outflow to 5 km/hr becoming W inflow to 20 km/hr in early afternoon.  Novice peak lapse rate -2.2C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft E 37km/hr.  Valley winds N to 15 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.2C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 1000-1900.  90% chances to paraglide.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard being adjacent to ocean get seabreeze overpowering inland outflow condition. P2 pilots 0800-1900. Paragliding prospects 80%. 

3. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.6 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Outflow mornings favour Pemberton, with only light outflow there and helps combat Whistler Express S wind.  Mt. Mackenzie with narrow window for P2 to P3 pilots early before lapse rate jacks up. P4 advanced pilots after 1200 with XXX lapse rate.  Choose to fly or not expecting XXX thermals.  Careful out there. Prospects for paragliding 70% for XXX pilots only.

4. Paragliding Chilliwack: -3.2C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Woodside with strong N lee-side in morning. DO NOT FLY.  When switch to inflow comes early afternoon, watch for rough XXX conditions.  Bridal loves N wind (and should be significantly less compared to the venturi at Harrison lake over Woodside) P3 Intermediate pilots may have a narrow window 1100 to 1400, then watch for P4 to XXX conditions with strong ridge lift and very strong thermals. Chances for advanced paragliding 60%. 

5. Paragliding Seattle: -2.4C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Tiger with strong East wind aloft to 37 km/hr creating rough lee-side conditions.  Paragliding not recommended. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.9 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Expect too strong conditions for paragliding. Paragliding not recommended.
