At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

Transitioning pressure with partly cloud skies clearing as the day progresses. Sunnier skies in Pemberton and Seattle-Bellingham. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SE to 17 km/hr. Main valley wind E outflow to 15 km/hr becoming inflow to 10 km/hr. Chilliwack with early inflow W wind and building to 20-40km/hr in morning. Pemberton Valley not as impacted by strong gusty early inflow. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley winds WSW to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

1. Paraglding Seattle: -2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Great day for Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-2000. Chances to paraglide 90%.

2. Pemberton Paragliding: -3.1C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Mt. McKenzie should be on for P2 pilots 0800-1400 and 1800-2000 with P4 conditions 1400-1800. Paragliding chances 80%. 

3. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0800-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

4. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Wait for early cloud to dissipate/lift. Grouse for GMFT P3 pilots 1200-1900.  Chances to paraglide 80%. 

Paragliding is not recommended today in Chilliwack due to SE winds aloft placing sites in lee-side combined with strong gusty 20-40 km/hr West clearing wind arriving mid morning.

Low pressure with mostly cloudy skies and 30-60% POP in Chilliwack-Vancouver-Pemberton areas with sunnier skies in Seattle-Bellingham. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SE to 17 km/hr easing to light and variable. Main valley wind E outflow to 15 km/hr becoming inflow to 10 km/hr.  Chilliwack with early inflow W wind and building to 20 km/hr. Advanced peak lapse rate -3.2C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 31 km/hr easing to light and variable. Valley winds S and becoming SW to 13 km/hr. Advanced peak lapse rate -2.7C/1000ft.

1. Paraglding Seattle: -2.7C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Wait for strong SW wind aloft to subside in mid afternoon. Tiger for P4 pilots 1400-2000. Chances to paraglide 70%.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Wait fro strong SW wind aloft to subside in mid afternoon. Blanchard for P3 pilots 1400-1900. Chances to paraglide 70%. 

Paragliding is not recommended today in Chilliwack, Vancouver, Whistler or Pemberton due to low cloud base and POP up to 60%.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Main valley wind light outflow to 10 km/hr early becoming inflow to 10 km/hr.  Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming NNE to 15 km/hr.  Afternoon forecast is suspect, anticipate light and variable at 300 ft aloft all day.  Valley winds light and variable becoming NW to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Pemberton-3.0 C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Great day for Pemberton. Winds aloft at 3000ft light and variable making for easy triangles. Mt. McKenzie for P2 pilots 0800-1400 and 1800-2000 with P3 to P4 conditions 1400-1800. Paragliding prospects 90%. 

2. Paragliding Chilliwack-2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Mt. Woodside 0900-1400 and 1800-2000 with P3 conditions 1400-1800.  Bridal should work nice with anabatic flows up ridge.  P2 pilots 1000-1500 and 1800-2000 with P3 conditions 1500-1800. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

3. Paraglding Seattle: -2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Watch fro possible light N wind aloft late afternoon and verify.  Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-2000 if light N wind does not manifest.  Chances to paraglide 80%.

4. Paragliding Whistler: -3.3 C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Good day for Whistler for Whistler Flying team 0800-2000.  Chances to paraglide 90%. 

5. Paragliding Vancouver: -1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT 0900-2000.  90% paraglding chances. 

6. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.6C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0800-2000. Chances to paraglide 90%.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft N to 10 km/hr becoming NW to 17 km/hr. Main valley wind early WNW at Vancouver to 20 km/hr.  Chilliwack with gusty outflow 20-30 km/hr early easing to light and variable mid afternoon. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft NNE 13km/hr increasing to 19 km/hr. Valley winds NNW to 13 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.  

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Pemberton-3.4 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate.  Calling for NW winds aloft at 3000ft to 17 km/hr making for strong conditions in afternoon. Mt. McKenzie for P2 pilots 0800-1200 then watch for switch to P4 to XXX conditions.  Paragliding prospects 90% early, 60% late. 

2. Paragliding Chilliwack-2.9C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Lee-side at Woodside until post 1300. Pilots Advisory:  DO NOT FLY.  Bridal should get North Wind early and light up nicely with some soarable conditions. Bridal for P2 pilots 1000-1400 then watch fro switch to P4 conditions.  Chances to paraglide early 80%, late 70%. 

3. Paragliding Bellingham-2.4C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Blanchard with its proximity to ocean and low altitude of launch should not be influenced by N winds aloft more inland, but check to verify this.   Blanchard for P2 pilots 0800-1400 and 1700-2000 with P3 conditions at peak 1400-1700. Paragliding prospects 80%.

4. Paragliding Vancouver-2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Watch for possible NW winds aloft creating crosswind conditions and choose to fly or not accordingly.  Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 1000-2000.  60% chances to paraglide. 

5. Paragliding Whistler: -3.8 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate with strong NW wind aloft.  Paragliding not recommended. 

6. Paraglding Seattle: -2.5C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  North winds aloft placing Tiger in lee today, paragliding not recommended.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Main valley wind light E outflow to 10 km/hr becoming inflow to 10km/hr in Vancouver area, but becoming SW to 20 km/hr in Chilliwack and gusty inflow 20-40 km/hr in Pemberton. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 15 km/hr. Valley winds light and variable becoming SSW to 13 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Seattle-1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Easy day at Tiger with P2 conditions 0800-2000. 90% chances for paragliding. 

2. Paragliding Vancouver-2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 1000-2000.  90% chances to paraglide. 

3. Paragliding Bellingham-1.4C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0800-2000. Paragliding prospects 90%.  

4. Paragliding Chilliwack-2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-1000 then watch for increasing wind to P3 to P4 and then possibility of blown out conditions. Bridal may get blown out before it has time to heat up get sun and stat working. Chances to paraglide early 70%, late 50%. 

5. Paragliding Pemberton-3.2 C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Forecast lapse rate is suspect of being higher than actual, looking more like a 2.9 day. However Environment Canada calling for strong SW inflow 20 gusting to 40 km/hr before noon which means amplified Whistler Express South wind early and blown out conditions.  P2 flying not recommended today P4 pilots proceed or not and only with much caution.  Chances to fly early 50%.  Paragliding not recommended post 1200. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.4 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Forecast lapse rate is suspect of being higher than actual, looks more like 3.1 day. Environment Canada calling for strong SW inflow 20 gusting to 40 km/hr before noon which means amplified Whistler Express South wind early and blown out conditions  Paragliding not recommended.
