Paragliding Weather synopsis.  High pressure building to west causing north winds aloft and mixed conditions. Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 13:00 as NNW to 15 km/hr increasing to 26 km/hr through 22:00. Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft north and increasing to 27 km/hr post 13:00. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for northwest to north winds to 16 km/hr.  iParaglide Right Site Ranking: north winds aloft place most sites in lee, combined with low cloudbase and 40% POP.  Wait to paraglide until tomorrow for high to fully arrive/establish. Kiting your paraglider at Vanier should be great 13:00 on.

1. Paragliding Vancouver: mountain flights not recommended due to north wind aloft.  Kiting your paraglider at Vanier Park should be great due to west surface wind and sunny day.  Good opportunity to start getting warmed up for the new paragliding season.

2. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -2.7C/1000ft.  Advanced P4 paraglider pilots may watch the chilliwack webcam for a blue hole: less than 50% chance of this.   If it opens up, Bridal should be epic with a strong lapse rate and north wind making the entire ridge line soarable.  Other Chilliwack sites in lee and not recommended today.

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather summary.  Strong low pressure to northwest causing low cloud-base, scattered showers and mixed conditions throughout.  Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 10:00 as northwest to 15 km/hr increasing to 20 km/hr from the southwest through 21:00. Ground stations calling for light and variable conditions in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope.  Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast through to 22:00 as southwest to 26 km/hr. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for southwest winds to 16-25 km/hr.  iParaglide Right Site Ranking: advanced P4 paragliding in Bellingham, Blanchard. Intermediate P3 paraglider pilots may also try Chilliwack, Woodside and Elk if cloudbase lifts. Paragliding in Seattle, Pemberton and Vancouver not recommended today.      

1. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.7C/1000 ft, strong lapse rate and moderate southwest winds should make Blanchard epic for P4 advanced paraglider pilots that don't mind para-waiting for a blue hole.

2. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -2.5.  The intermediate lapse rate and southwest winds to 20 km/hr would yield good soaring and thermalling for P3 intermediate paragliders at Woodside and Elk, but only if cloudbase lifts and a blue hole develops. Chances are less than 30%, so watch the woodside webcam  and chilliwack webcam to see what develops.

Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 13:00 as southeast to 35 km/hr reducing to 24 km/hr through 22:00. Ground stations calling for east valley winds to 10 km/hr for Vancouver, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope.  Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 13:00 as south to 37 km/hr reducing to 22 km/hr through 22:00. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for southeast winds to 16-24 km/hr.  iParaglide Right Site Ranking: paragliding in Bellingham, may be possible for P4 pilots that don't mind para-waiting for a blue hole.  Chilliwack, Pemberton and Vancouver areas not recommended for paragliding today.

Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast through to 21:00 as southeast to 32 km/hr.  Ground stations calling for east valley winds to 15 km/hr for Vancouver, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope.  Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast through 13:00 as southeast to 34 km/hr. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for east and southeast winds to 24 km/hr. Although we will have a sunny morning, watch for increasing cloud and southeast winds as day progresses. iParaglide Right Site Ranking: paragliding in Bellingham, Chilliwack, Pemberton and Vancouver areas not recommended today.
