Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast based on data available at 0700. 

High pressure with mostly sunny skies and mild winds.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming SSE to 9 km/hr. Early E outflow to 10 km/hr becoming W inflow to 10 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.1C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light a variable. Valley wind light and variable. Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.5C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Blanchard Mountain  for P2 pilots 1000-1800. Paragliding prospects 90%. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: -2.0C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Wait for anabatic flows to start. Tiger for P2 pilots 1000-1800. Chances to paraglide 90%.

3. Paragliding Pemberton: -2.0C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 1000-1500 then watch for increasing south wind and possible switch to P3 conditions.  Paragliding prospects 90%.

4. Paragliding Whistler: -2.2/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Whistler team pilots at Whistler 1100-1800. 90% paragliding prospects. 

5. Paragliding Vancouver: - 2.1C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse Mountain for GMFT P4 members 1100-1800. Chances for paragliding 90%. 

6. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Wait for anabatic flows to start. Woodside for P2 pilots 1000-1400 then watch for possible light SE wind aloft and switch to P3 to P4 conditions. 70% chances to paraglide.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast based on data available at 0800. 

High pressure establishing yielding clearing skies and mild winds.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming WNW to 19 km/hr. Early E outflow to 10 km/hr becoming W inflow to 10 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft N to 17 km/hr easing to light a variable in afternoon. Valley wind light and variable. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft.

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.4C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate.  Blanchard Mountain should be below north wind aloft influence and dominated by sea-breeze, but watch for possible early north wind aloft.  P2 pilots 1100-1800. Paragliding prospects 80%. 

2. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Wait for cloudbase to lift and summit to clear early cloud. Woodside for P3 pilots 1200-1800. 70% chances to paraglide. 

3. Paragliding Seattle: - 2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Wait for early N wind aloft to subside.  Tiger for P2 pilots 1300-1800. Chances to paraglide 60%. 

4. Paragliding Pemberton: -2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 1300 onward but watch for increasing WNW winds aloft and possible switch to advanced P4 conditions as day progresses. Paragliding prospects 50%.

5. Paragliding Vancouver: - 2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Wait for early cloud to lift. Grouse Mountain for GMFT P4 members 1200-1500 then watch for increasing crosswind WNW aloft.  Chances for paragliding 50%. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Whistler team pilots at Whistler 1200 onward. Watch for increasing wind and rough conditions as day progresses.

Low Pressure associated front and rain to thunderstorms throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds SW to 13 km/hr and increasing to 37 km/hr WNW. Valley wind outflow E to 15 km/hr becoming W to 20 km/hr.  Advanced peak lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 39km/hr.  Valley wind light and variable.   Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.

Low Pressure to NW with associated fronts brings much needed rain.  

YVR 3000 ft winds SW increasing to 35 km/hr.  Valley wind outflow becoming S to 20 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 31km/hr and increasing to 68 km/hr.  Valley wind S to 20 km/hr.  Novice peak lapse rate -1.7C/1000ft.

Low Pressure to NW with associated fronts brings much needed rain.  

YVR 3000 ft winds SE at 15 km/hr and increasing to 30 km/hr. Valley wind outflow to 20 km/hr becoming SW inflow to 20 km/hr late in the day. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 31km/hr. Valley wind S to 10 km/hr.  Novice peak lapse rate -1.6C/1000ft.
