Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Right Site Paragliding Weather: Jul 04, 2021

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure wiht mostly sunny skies, excepting Whistler-Pemberton with 30% POP and possibilty of thunderstorm this afternoon. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable, becoming WSW to 9 km/hr. Valley wind with early WNW inflow to 20 km/hr settling down to 10 km/hr early. Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable all day. Valley winds light and variable becoming SW to 11 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.5C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Light and Variable winds aloft, becoming WSW to 9 km/hr, should make Bridal light up nicely with anabatic breeze up the ridge line.  Bridal for P2 pilots 11:00-15:00 with P3 intermediate conditions therafter 15:00-20:00. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-13:00 then watch for increased winds and switch to P4 conditions 13:00-20:00. 90% chances to paraglide.

2. Paragliding Vancouver: -1.8 C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 10:00-20:30. 90% chances to paraglide.

3. Paragliding Seattle: -2.4 C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Tiger should be great today with P2 conditions 0800-1300 and 17:00-20:30 with P3 intermediate conditions at peak 13:00-17:00. Chances for paragliding 90%. 

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.1 C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Paragliding prospects 90%.   

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -2.6 C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Watch for 30% POP in afternoon with possible strong to overdeveloping conditions with possibility of thunderstorm.  Mackenzie for P2 pilots 08:00-11:00 then watch for P4 advanced conditions to do not fly conditions. Prospects for paragliding 70% early, 40% late.

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.7 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate.  Strong lapse rate combined with 30% POP wiht possibilty of thunderstorm make paragliding not recommended in Whistler today.
