Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Right Site Paragliding Weather: Jul 03, 2021

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure with partly cloudy to sunny skies in most areas, excepting Whistler-Pemberton with 30% POP this afternoon. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable, becoming WNW to 19 km/hr. Valley wind with early NW inflow to 20 km/hr settlein dwon to 10 km/hr as day progresses. Novice peak lapse rate -1.7C/1000ft.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable all day. Valley winds light and variable becoming WNW to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.7C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Light and Variable winds aloft, becoming WNW to 19 km/hr, should make Bridal light up nicely with anabatic flows and then soaring breeze up the ridge line.  Bridal for P2 pilots 11:00-14:00 with P4 advanced conditions therafter 14:00-20:00. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-13:00, with P4 conditions 13:00-20:00. 90% chances to paraglide.

2. Paragliding Vancouver: -1.7 C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT P3 Intermediate Pilots 10:00-20:30. 90% chances to paraglide.

3. Paragliding Seattle: -2.4 C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Tiger should be great today with P2 conditions 0800-1300 and 1700-20:30 with P3 intermediate conditions at peak 1300-1700. Chances for paragliding 90%. 

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Paragliding prospects 90%.   

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -2.8 C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Watch for 30% POP in afternoon with possible strong conditions with WNW winds aloft at 6000 ft to 30 km/hr. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 10:00-1300 with P4 advanced conditions thereafter 1300-2000.  Prospects for paragliding 70%.

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.6 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate.  Strong lapse rate combined with strong WNW wind aloft make paragliding not recommended in Whistler today.
