Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure arrival brings early clearing west wind, post frontal conditions and progressively sunnier skies through the day. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming NW to 11 km/hr.  Valley wind light and variable becoming W inflow to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft NE 9 km/hr and becoming NNE and increasing to 24 km/hr. Valley winds light NE becoming NW and increasing to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Vancouver Paragliding: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate.  Wait for Grouse summit to clear clouds. Grouse Mountain for GMFT P4 advanced paragliding pilots 1000-2000. Paragliding chances 70%.

2. Pemberton Paragliding : -2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Wait for summits to clear clouds. Upper Mackenzie 1100-1400 and 1700-2000 for P2 pilots with P3 intermediate conditions 1400-1700.  Paragliding prospects 70%.

3. Bellingham Paragliding: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 paraglider pilots 0900-2000.  80% paragliding prospects.

4. Seattle Paragliding: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. 20% POP, wait for summit to clear cloud. Tiger for P2 pilots 1200-1300  with increasing NNE wind yielding P3 conditions at peak 1300-1900. 60% chances to paraglide. 

5. Chilliwack Paragliding: -3.0C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Wait for early cloud, 30% POP and West clearing wind to dissipate. Strong post frontal day. Woodside for P4 pilots 1300-1800.  Bridal for P4 pilots 1300-1800.  50% paragliding chances. 

6. Whistler Paragliding: -3.2C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Strong post frontal day after it clears. Whistler Team P4 Advanced pilots 1300-1900. Watch for strong thermals 1300-1900. Chances to paraglide 40%.
