Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Right Site Paragliding Weather: Aug 02, 2020

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure brings sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable, becoming S to 19 km/hr.  Valley wind E outflow to 15 km/hr becoming light W inflow to 10 km/hr.  Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft S to 10 km/hr and becoming light and variable. Valley winds light and variable becoming SW to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Chilliwack Paragliding: -3.0C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Forecast lapse rate is suspect of being higher that actual. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-1300 and 1700-2100 with possible P3 intermediate conditions at peak 1300-1700.  Bridal may develop lee-side conditions in afternoon with south winds aloft forecast to 19 km/hr, advanced P4 pilots should evaluate and make a go or no go decision accordingly. 90% chances to paraglide at Woodside, 50% at Bridal.  

2. Pemberton Paragliding : -3.0C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Upper Mackenzie 0900-1400 and 1800-2100 for P2 pilots with P4 advanced conditions 1400-1800.  Paragliding prospects 90%.

3. Whistler Paragliding: -3.4C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate.  Whistler Team P4 Advanced pilots 0900-2000. Watch for strong thermals 1200-1700. Chances to paraglide 90%.

4. Vancouver Paragliding: -2.5C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate.  Grouse Mountain for GMFT P4 advanced paragliding pilots 1000-2000. Paragliding chances 90%.  

5. Seattle Paragliding: -2.6C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-1300 and 1700-2000 with P3 conditions at peak 1300-1700. 90% chances to paraglide. 

6. Bellingham Paragliding: -2.2C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 paraglider pilots 0900-2000.  90% paragliding prospects.
