Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Top Gun References

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather Apr.9/11

Paragliding Weather summary.  High pressure dissipating, yielding cloudy skies and 40-60% POP, however cloud base is relatively high.   Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 10:00 as NW to 11 km/hr changing to SSE to 9 km/hr through 21:00. Fraser River Valley ground stations forecasting valley winds SW to 10 km/hr. Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft SW to 20 km/hr through 22:00. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for SW winds to 16 km/hr. Marginal paragliding day. iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.9C/1000 ft. Strong Lapse rate and southwest soaring breeze would make Blanchard epic for P4 advanced paraglider pilots that don't mind para-waiting for a blue hole.  Persistent cloud cover would shut it down.  Chances 50/50.

2. Paragliding Seattle: lapse -2.7.  Strong lapse rate and SW wind makes Tiger the choice for P4 advanced paraglider pilots.  Persistent cloud cover would shut it down.  Chances 50/50.

3. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -2.2.  Intermediate P3 paraglider pilots: Winds aloft should be overpowered by seabreeze post 13:00 at Woodside. With POP at 60%, chances are less than 40/60.

4. Paragliding Pemberton: not recommended today.

5. Paragliding Whistler:  Whistler Paragliding team members only.  Not recommended today.

6. Paragliding Vancouver: Grouse Mountain Flying Team only. Not recommended today.
