Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Top Gun References

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather Apr.8/11

Paragliding Weather synopsis.  High pressure ridge established, yielding sunny skies. Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 10:00 as NNW at 11km/hr changing to west to 22 km/hr through 21:00. Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft NNE to 16 km/hr changing to N to 10 km/hr through 22:00. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for northwest winds to 16 km/hr. Good paragliding day for select spots. iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -2.8C/1000ft.  Advanced P4 paraglider pilots: Bridal should be epic with a strong lapse rate and north wind making the entire ridge line soarable. Woodside, P3 intermediate paraglider pilots: wait until 13:00 for north winds to subside and seabreeze to establish.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.2. Watch for north wind which should be overpowered by seabreeze. Blanchard should turn on 12:00 for P2 novice paragliders.

3. Paragliding Seattle: lapse -2.7.  Watch for north wind, which should be overpowered by seabreeze.  Strong lapse rate makes Tiger the choice for P4 advanced paraglider pilots.

4. Paragliding Pemberton: lapse -2.0. Lower Mackenzie for P2 Novice pilots. Access may still be limited, may need to snowhoe/hike and paraglide.

5. Paragliding Whistler: lapse -2.0. Whistler Paragliding team members only.  Should be good for advanced P4 paragliding pilots.

6. Paragliding Vancouver: lapse -2.7.  Grouse Mountain Flying Team only.
