Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Top Gun References

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather Feb.20/11

iParaglide Paragliding Weather synopsis.  High pressure bringing sunny skies. Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast through to 22:00 as southwest to 15 km/hr.  Ground stations at 09:00 in Vancouver, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope reporting gusty outflow east winds to 40 km/hr: expected to subside as day progresses.  Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast through 22:00 as southwest to 18 km/hr. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for southwest winds to 16 km/hr. iParaglide Right Site Ranking: Blanchard Bellingham should yield excellent paragliding post 11:00.  Elk Mountain, Chilliwack could be fanatastic 13:00, provided the outflow in Chillwack valley subsides, check before heading out.

1. Bellingham paragliding: sunny, lapse -2.3 C/1000 ft. Fantastic day for Blanchard flying for P2-P4 paragliding pilots post 11:00. South wind yields possible paragliding soaring conditions and decent lapse rate for this time of year.

2. Chilliwack paragliding: sunny, lapse -2.2.  Outflow in main valley shuts down most sites.  Hike and fly in sheltered Elk Mtn. valley for possible soaring using SW winds aloft.  Check Chilliwack valley winds for subsiding trend before heading out.

3. Pemberton paragliding: outflow dominates, paragliding not recommended.

4. Vancouver paragliding: outflow conditions and Grouse seasonally closed to paragliding for winter.  Grouse Mountain Flying Team paragliding members only.
