Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0800.

Mixed skies with transitioning pressure. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SE to 19 km/hr. Intermediate Peak lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 19 km/hr. Advanced Peak lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft.

Outflow aloft combined with katabatic flows and delayed clearing throughout, places most sites in Chilliwack and Pemberton Valleys in lee side. Paragliding is not recommended in Chilliwack and Pemberton Valleys.

SW wind aloft to south makes a good day for flying Blanchard, proximate to sea breeze.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.5C/1000ft: intermediate peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 1000-1300 and 1500-1800 with P3 conditions 1300-1500. 90% chances for paragliding.

Low to west and associated fronts brings rain and outflow throughout.

YVR 3000ft winds aloft SE 31 km/hr increasing to 52 km/hr.  Novice lapse rate at -1.8C/1000ft. Valley winds E to 10 km/hr. 

SEA 3000ft winds aloft SW 24 km/hr increasing to 52 km/hr.  Novice lapse rate at -2.3C/1000ft. Valley winds E to 5 km/hr.

High pressure to east with low to west: brings outflow winds. 

YVR 3000ft winds aloft E 44 km/hr easing to 33 km/hr.  Novice lapse rate at -2.0C/1000ft.  Valley winds E to 30 km/hr. 

SEA 3000ft winds aloft SE 52km/hr easing to 30 km/hr. Intermediate lapse rate at -2.6C/1000ft. Valley winds E to 30 km/hr.

Low pressure to northwest brings rain and strong southeast outflow winds.

YVR 3000ft winds aloft SE to 52 km/hr increasing to 80 km/hr.  Novice lapse rate at -2.1C/1000ft.  Valley winds gusting to 60 km/hr from SE.

SEA 3000ft winds aloft SE to 63 km/hr becoming SW to 57 km/hr. Intermediate lapse rate at -2.4C/1000ft. Valley winds SE to 35 km/hr.
