Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0500. 

Low pressure aloft causing increasing instability.

Mostly sunny throughout early becoming mixed skies to scattered showers with 30% POP as day progresses. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley wind E to 15 km/hr becoming W to 10 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley wind south to 10 km/hr, becoming light and variable, Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Seattle: - 2.5 C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-1300 and 1800-2100 with P3 conditions 1300-1800. 90% chances to paraglide. 

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.4C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate.  Blanchard for P2 pilots 0800-1400 and 1700-2000 with P3 conditions 1400-1700. Chances for paragliding 90%.

Mostly sunny throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley wind E to 5 km/hr becoming W to 5 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley wind light and variable becoming W to 10 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.5C/1000ft.

Low aloft to northeast causing mixed skies.  

Starting cloudy and clearing early in Vancouver, Bellingham, Seattle. 

Mostly cloudy in Chilliwack. 

Pemberton/Whistler mixed skies and 30% POP.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft W to 9km/hr easing to light and variable as the day progresses. Valley wind W to 20 km/hr easing as the day progresses. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft  light and variable. Valley wind S to 8 km/hr and becoming light and variable. Advanced peak lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft.

Paragliding forecast for Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton areas, based on data available at 0800.

Transitioning pressure with mostly sunny skies in Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle. 

Pemberton/Whistler mixed skies and 30% POP.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft W to 30 km/hr easing to 22 km/hr as the day progresses. Valley wind strong gusty west wind early 34-45 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft  light and variable becoming SW to 9 km/hr. Valley wind light and variable. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Seattle: - 2.4 C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Webcam showing Tiger summit in clouds at 0800 but should break early for a great day.  P3 intermediate pilots 1100-1800 with P2 conditions 1800-2100. 90% Paragliding prospects. 

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9 C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate.  Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Paragliding chances 90%. 

3. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.6C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Narrow window to fly before strong seabreeze arrives which combined with west wind aloft, means likely blown out by 1100. Already gusting in Hope at 0900 17-32 km/hr West wind. Woodside for P3 pilots 0800-1000 with P4 advanced conditions or blown out thereafter. 60% chances to paraglide early, 30% late. 

4. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.4 C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Watch for strong west wind in valley and aloft and only fly if it subsides. Grouse for GMFT P4 pilots 1300-1900.  40% paragliding chances.

5. Paragliding Pemberton: - 2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Watch for strong and early Whistler Express arrival, strong shredded thermals, 30% POP with some potential for OD.   XXX pilots only proceed or not only with due caution. 20% paragliding prospects.

6. Paragliding Whistler: -2.9 C/1000ft advanced intermediate peak lapse rate. Too turbulent to fly today, paragliding not recommended.

High pressure brings sunny skies throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming NW to 28 km/hr. Valley wind early E outflow to 10 km/hr becoming W to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft NNE 15 km/hr and increasing to 22 km/hr. Valley wind NW to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.3C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Woodside for P2 pilots 0700-1300, watch for strong NW wind aloft after midday yielding P3-P4 conditions. 90% chances to paraglide.

2. Paragliding Pemberton: - 2.3 C/1000ft novice peak lapse rate. Mt. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 0900-1300 watch for strong NW wind aloft causing P3-P4 conditions 1300-2000.  Paragliding chances 90%.
