Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0600. 

Low to NE brings increasing instability, strong winds aloft, clouds and POP as day progresses. 

Sunny becoming progressively more cloudy in Whistler and Pemberton. 

Vancouver progressively more cloudy and windy in afternoon.

Chilliwack progressively more cloudy and 30% POP windy in afternoon. 

Bellingham and Seattle sunny throughout and not windy. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft NW to 44 km/hr becoming SE to 11 km/hr.  Valley wind light W to 20 km/hr building to 30 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 28 km/hr. Valley wind SW to 25 km/hr. Novice Peak lapse rate -2.1C/1000ft.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0500. 

Transitioning pressure brings mixed and changing conditions. 

Sunny becoming progressively more cloudy with 30-60% POP and possibility of thunderstorm in Whistler and Pemberton. 

Vancouver progressively more cloudy with 30% POP and windy in afternoon.

Chilliwack progressively more cloudy and windy in afternoon. 

Bellingham and Seattle sunny throughout and not windy. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 19 km/hr becoming NW to 24 km/hr.  Valley wind light W to 5 km/hr building to 25 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 20 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley wind light and variable, becoming S to 10 km/hr. Novice Peak lapse rate -2.2C/1000ft.

Actual afternoon lapse rate expected to be higher than forecast.  Watch for early and strong arrival of Whistler Express S wind, possible over development, 30% POP and possibility of thunderstorm. P4 pilots proceed or not only with caution. Paragliding chances 70% early, paragliding not recommended in afternoon due to instability.

Sunny throughout due to high pressure.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light W to 13 km/hr. Valley wind light and variable becoming W to 15 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -1.2C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley wind light and variable, becoming S to 10 km/hr. Intermediate peak lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft.

1. Paragliding Pemberton: - 2.6C/1000ft intermediate peak lapse rate. Mt. Mackenzie for P2 pilots 0800-1300 and 1700-2000 with P3 conditions 1300-1700. Prospects for paragliding 90% early, Whistler Express south wind may kick in later 70% chances late.

Low pressure aloft causing increasing instability.

Mostly cloudy throughout becoming scattered showers with 40-60% POP and possiblity of thunderstorms in select areas as the day progresses. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable, becoming SE to 11 km/hr. Valley wind E to 10 km/hr becoming W to 10 km/hr as sea-breeze establishes. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 20 km/hr. Valley wind south to 10 km/hr. Advanced peak lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft.

Paragliding not recommended today in Vancouver, Chilliwack, Whislter , Pemberton, Bellingham or Seattle due to low pressure aloft causing mostly cloudy conditions with 40-60% POP and risk of thunder storms in select areas in the afternoon.
