Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0600.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft W to 17 km/hr.  Vancouver Valley wind NW to 10 km/hr.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Valley winds NW to 10 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.8C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Woodside for P2 pilots 1000-1200 and P4 Advanced conditions 1200-1800.  Bridal for P2 pilots 1100-1300 and P4 pilots 1200-1800.  Paragliding chances 90%. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: -2.5C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Tiger for P2 pilots 0900-1300 with P4 conditions 1300-1900. Prospects for paragliding 90%.

3. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.5C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Mt. Mckenzie for P2 pilots 0900-1200 with P4 conditions 1200-1900. Chances to paraglide 80%.  

4. Paragliding Vancouver: -1.9C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT 1100-1900 for P3 to P4 pilots. Chances for paragliding 90%.

5. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.9C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Watch for extreme lapse rate.  XXX pilots chose to fly or not accordingly.

Low pressure pressure with strong valley winds and winds aloft and rain and chance of thunderstorm in mountain areas throughout. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 30 km/hr.  Valley winds gusting to 30 km/hr. Advanced Peak Lapse Rate at -3.1C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 50 km/hr. Valley winds SSW to 40 km/hr. Advanced Peak Lapse Rate at -2.7C/1000ft.

Paragliding is not recommended today with rain, strong winds and possibility of thunderstorm in mountain areas of Chilliwack, Vancouver and Pemberton, Bellingham and Seattle .

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 25 km/hr becoming SE to 40 km/hr. Valley winds to gusting to 30 km/hr. light and variable.  Novice Peak Lapse Rate at -2.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 54 km/hr. Valley winds SSW to 20 km/hr. Intermediate Peak Lapse Rate at -2.4C/1000ft.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0700.

Transitioning pressure to with high pressure partially wedging below low pressure.  Watch for progressively clouding of skies and increasing chance of precipitation in mountain areas, and gusty winds with advance lapse rate.  Possibility of over-development and risk of thunderstorm in Bellingham.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Winds aloft forecast is suspect. Vancouver Valley wind SSW gusting to 20 km/hr and to 40 km/hr in afternoon. Chilliwack Valley wind SW 20 gusting to 40 km/hr.  Advanced Peak Lapse Rate at -3.3C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 26 km/hr becoming light and variable. Valley winds SSW to 15 km/hr. Advanced Peak Lapse Rate at -3.5C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

Paragliding is not recommended today with 30-40% POP and gusty winds 40 to 50 km/hr in valleys in Chilliwack, Vancouver and Pemberton.  Seattle with instability and 40% POP, paragliding not recommended. Bellingham with added risk of Thunderstorm: do NOT paraglide in Bellingham area today.

Transitioning pressure to low with progressively clouding of skies, increasing chance of precipitation in late afternoon in mountain areas, and possibility of front arrival with high gust winds, strong lapse rate and over-development. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft ESE to 37 km/hr becoming WSW to 26 km/hr.  Vancouver Valley wind E to 20 gusting to 40 km/hr becoming SW 40 gusting to 60 km/hr. Chilliwack Valley wind NW 20 gusting to 40 km/hr, becoming SW 30 gusting to 50 km/hr. XXX Peak Lapse Rate at -3.8C/1000ft. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SSE to 33 km/hr becoming SE gusting to 46 km/hr.  Valley winds NNE gusting to 26 km/hr becoming WSW gusting to 40 km/hr. XXX Peak Lapse Rate at -3.5C/1000ft.
