Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Synopsis: weak low pressure dominates. Mostly cloudy skies with 30% POP in Chilliwack and Bellingham areas, paragliding not recommended. Pemberton clearing with good prospects for advanced pilots in afternoon.  Grouse likley capped in cloud most of day.

Vancouver: clearing to 19C. Lapse 2.8: Advanced.  Grouse likely capped in cloud for most of day.  GMFT team pilots only.   

Chilliwack: mostly cloudy with 30% POP, peaking at 17C.  Lapse 2.5: Intermediate.  Paragliding not recommended.   

Pemberton: clearing to 19C.  Lapse 2.8: advanced.  With outflow in Fraser valley, whistler express unlikely to establish, could be an epic day in afternoon for P4 advanced paraglider pilots.     

Bellingham: showers to 16C, lapse to 2.1.  Windows to fly for P2 paraglider pilots.

iparaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather Sep.4/10

Synopsis: high pressure to west and low to east, meshing and yeilding high northwest winds and high lapse rate. NO PARAGLIDING ADVISORY. Do not paraglide in the Vancouver, Chilliwack or Pemberton areas. Paragliding in Bellingham area may be possible, but be careful of increasing north or west winds.       

Vancouver: Sunny to 20C. Lapse 3.0: Advanced.  West wind to 60 km/hr on ground and aloft.  NO PARAGLIDING WARNING. 

Chilliwack: a mix of sun and cloud to 20C. Lapse 3.0: Advanced. PARAGLIDER NO FLY WARNING.  Gusty Northwest wind to 50 km/hr in valley and loft combined with strong lapse rate, yielding gusty turbulent conditions with very strong lift. 

Pemberton: 30% POP.   Lapse 3.0: Advanced.  Whistler express will start early and be very strong due to unusual strong west inflow condition. PARAGLIDING WEATHER ADVISORY DO NOT FLY.    

Bellingham: sunny to 18C, Lapse 2.4: Intermediate. Blanchard is a possibility for P3 intermediate paragliding pilots wishing to escape the strong inflow in the Fraser Valley.  Although the winds aloft for Seattle look favorable, be mindful of the potential for sudden west or north wind increases through the day.

Vancouver: Sunny to 22C. Lapse 1.8: Novice. Grouse for GMFT paraglider team pilots only.   

Chilliwack: sunny to 27C. Lapse 2.7: Advanced. Woodside for P2 paraglider pilots before 13:00 and after 17:00. P4 advanced conditions at peak. Bridal P2 conditions 11:00-13:00 and after 18:00, P4 paragliding conditions post 13:00.     

Pemberton: sunny to 25C.  Lapse 2.3.  Mackenzie upper and lower P2 paraglider conditions before 13:00 and after 17:00, P3 paragliding conditions at peak.    

Bellingham: sunny to 26C, Lapse 2.2.  Blanchard for P2 novice paragliders all day.  Black mountain P2 paraglider pilots before 13:00 and after 18:00, P4 pilots at peak.

Chilliwack: sunny early with increasing cloud in evening. Lapse 3.0: Advanced. Woodside for P2 paraglider pilots before 13:00. P4 advanced conditions at peak.     

Pemberton: increasing cloud with 30%POP late afternoon. Paragliding not recommended.     

Bellingham: Mostly sunny, Lapse 2.4.  Blanchard for P2 novice paragliders all day.
