At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton areas, based on data available at 0500.

Low pressure and associated fronts dominate weather picture with 60-100% POP.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming NW to 15 km/hr. Valley wind E outflow to 10 km/hr.  Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft. 100% POP.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable.  Valley winds ENE to 10 km/hr.  iP2 Novice peak lapse rate -2.0C/1000ft.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0600.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft NW to 25 km/hr.  Main valley wind with early gusty West wind 34-45 km/hr in Vancouver, southwest in Abbotsford to 10 km/hr, and West to 15 km/hr in Hope.  Watch for early blown out West wind conditions.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft info unavailable this morning. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Bellingham:  Blanchard for P3-P4 pilots 1000-1900. Watch for possible strong sea breeze or blown out conditions. Chances to paraglide 70%. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: Tiger Mountain 1000-1900 for P3-P4 1000-1900 pilots.  Watch for possible strong West wind conditions.  Chances to paraglide 60%.

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -3.1C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT 1000-1300 for P3-P4 pilots then watch for increasing West wind a aloft and in LZ with probable blown out conditions. Chances to paraglide early 50% chances to paraglide late 30%. 

4. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.8C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate. Watch for XXX lapse rate and early arrival of strong Whistler Express south wind.  P4 pilots monitor conditions and choose to fly or not accordingly. Paragliding prospects 60% early, flying not recommended post 1300. 

5. Paragliding Chilliwack: -3.1C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. DO NOT FLY Chilliwack today: high probability of blown out conditions early. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -4.3 C/1000ft Extreme peak lapse rate combined with very early arrival of Whistler express strong south wind.  DO NOT FLY Whistler today.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SSW to 19 km/hr becoming light and variable by mid morning. Main valley wind becoming E to 10 km/hr early becoming SW to 20 km/hr in Chilliwack by mid afternoon and W 10km/hr in Vancouver. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming N to 9 km/hr. Valley winds NW to 10 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -3.0C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. Mt. Woodside for P2 pilots 0700-1300 then watch for increasing wind and lapse rate with P4 to blown out conditions 1300-1900.  Bridal for p$ pilots 1300-1900 watch for increasing west wind to blown out conditions.  Chances to paraglide early 80%, chances to paraglide late 50%. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: -2.5C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Great day at Tiger Mountain.  0800-1300 and 1800-2000for P2 pilots with P3 conditions at peak 1300-1800. Chances to paraglide 90%.

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Nice day at Grouse. Grouse for GMFT 1000-2000 for P3 pilots.  Chances to paraglide 90%.

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0600.

Transitioning pressure to low pressure with progressively clouding skies and 30-40% POP in Vancouver, Chilliwack & Pemberton.  Seattle with mostly cloudy skies.  Bellingham with mostly sunny skies.  

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft NW to 11 km/hr. Main valley wind becoming gusty SW to 30 km/hr by mid-morning in Chilliwack and W to 15km/hr in Vancouver. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 11 km/hr.  Valley winds S to 10 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.1C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard with a blue hole often when other areas cloudy/rainy.  Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 80%. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: -2.1C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Wait to see if clouds lift at Tiger Mountain.  1300-2000 for P3 pilots.  Chances to paraglide 50%.

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -2.7C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  Wait to see if clouds dissipate and/or POP to go down. Grouse Mountain for GMFT 1300-2000. 50% paragliding chances. 

Paragliding not recommended today in Chilliwack due to 30% POP and early blown out conditions with West wind to 30 km/hr.  

Paragliding not recommended today in Pemberton & Whistler today due to 30% POP, XXX lapse rate and strong early Whistler Express south wind yielding blown out conditions.
