Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0900.

Low pressure with 30-100% POP, with the exception of Seattle, with partly sunny forecast. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft southwest  to 17 km/hr.  -2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  60% POP.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft southwest 10 km/hr, easing to light and variable. -1.8C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Partly sunny. 

Paragliding is not recommended in Vancouver, Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, or Bellingham areas today due to cloudy skies with 60-100% POP.

Transitioning pressure with cloudy to sunny skies. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Vancouver valley winds E to 10 km/hr becoming W to 10 km/hr.   Chilliwack Valley winds light and variable becoming W to 20 km/hr in early afternoon.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft north to 13 km/hr.  Valley winds light and variable becoming NW to 10 km/hr.

Low pressure with 60-100% POP, possibility of thunderstorm, and gusty winds.  Waterspout weather watch in straight of Georgia 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft south to 15 km/hr.  -2.7C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate.  60% POP with possibility of thunderstorm. 

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft west to 15 km/hr. -2.8C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. 90% POP.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies and low winds in valleys and aloft.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Vancouver valley winds E to 5 km/hr becoming W to 5 km/hr.   Chilliwack Valley winds light and variable becoming W to 10 km/hr in early afternoon.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming south to 10 km/hr late afternoon.Valley winds light and variable becoming WNW to 13 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Pemberton: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Great day for Mt. McKenzie, with light and variable winds aloft making for anabatic flows up all mountain sides and soarable lift.  P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%.

Paragliding Weather Forecast for the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure with mostly sunny skies, except Pemberton with 40% POP and possibility of thunderstorm. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft SE to 17 km/hr (forecast is suspect and inferred to be light and variable) becoming light and variable. Vancouver valley winds E to 15 km/hr becoming W to 5 km/hr.   Chilliwack Valley winds light and variable becoming forecast as W to 20 km/hr in early afternoon.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable. Valley winds light and variable becoming SW to 11 km/hr.

1. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.4C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate.  Mt. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-1400 then watch for increasing wind and lapse rate to P3 conditons 1400-1900.  Bridal FSR is closed for maintenance. 90% chances to fly early, 80% late. 

2. Paragliding Seattle: -2.1C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Great day for Tiger for P2 pilots 0800-2000 Paragliding opportunities 90%. 

3. Paragliding Vancouver: -1.9C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Nice day for Grouse for GMFT 1000-2000 for P3 to P4 pilots. Chances for paragliding 90%.

4. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.9C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Blanchard for P2 pilots 0900-1900. Chances to paraglide 90%. 

5. Paragliding Pemberton: -3.0C/1000ft Advanced peak lapse rate. 40% POP and probability of over development with possibility of thunderstorm, and probable arrival of Whistler Express S wind, makes Pemberton a "no go" today. 

6. Paragliding Whistler: -3.5C/1000ft XXX peak forecast lapse rate.   40% POP, and probability of over development with possibility of thunderstorm, XXX lapse rate and probable arrival of Whistler Express S wind means Whistler is "no go" today.
