Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Squamish, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast, based on data available at 0500.

High pressure with sunny skies and light winds through the day. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft light and variable becoming WNW to 24 km/hr. Valley E outflow to 5 km/hr becoming W inflow to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -1.5C/1000ft.  

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft light N at 24 km/hr.  Valley winds light and variable becoming NW to 10 km/hr. Novice peak lapse rate -2.3C/1000ft. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Chilliwack Paragliding: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Woodside for P2 pilots 0800-1400 then watch arrival of sea-breeze and possible switch to intermediate P3 conditions 1400-1800. Bridal for P2 pilots 1200-1500 then watch for arrival of sea-breeze and possible switch to intermediate conditions 1500-1800. 90% paragliding chances. 

2. Pemberton Paragliding : -2.6C/1000ft Intermediate peak lapse rate. Great day for Pemberton flying. Upper Mackenzie for P2 pilots 0800-1400 then watch for increasing lapse rate and WNW wind aloft and switch to intermediate conditions 1400-1900. Paragliding prospects 80%.

3. Vancouver Paragliding: - 1.5C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Grouse for GMFT members 1100-1900.  Chances to paraglide 90%. 

4. Bellingham Paragliding: -2.0C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate. Blanchard for P2 paraglider pilots 0800-1800 90% paragliding prospects.

5. Seattle Paragliding: -2.3C/1000ft Novice peak lapse rate.  Watch for possible N wind aloft to 24 km/hr and intermediate to advanced P4 conditions at Tiger 0800-1900 70% chances to paraglide.  

6. Whistler Paragliding: -3.3 C/1000ft XXX peak lapse rate.  Watch for strong conditions at Whistler. If actual lapse rate is lower that forecast,  proceed or not only with an abundance of caution.  30% chances to paraglide.
