iParaglide Right Site Ranking:
1. Paragliding Bellingham: -2.7C/1000ft advanced peak lapse rate. Blanchard summit is low enough and also moderated by the close proximity to the ocean, that it is often outside the effects of the 3000 ft level winds aloft. Not withstanding, watch out for possible North wind aloft placing Blanchard in lee-side, and if so, do not fly. Otherwise, Blanchard for P4 pilots 1100-1900 with advanced conditions and strong thermals. Paragliding prospects 60%.
The embedded low aloft creating instability and a high lapse rate, clouds surrounding summits early, strong North to Northwest winds aloft, and up to 60% POP with the potential for over-development and thunderstorm in the afternoon, make paragliding not recommended today in Vancouver, Chilliwack, Pemberton and Seattle.
