Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Top Gun References

iParaglide Right Site Weather: Sep. 6

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area weather forecast for paraglider pilots. Sunny skies due to high pressure, but outflow persisting until mid-day or later. Paragliding Vancouver - valley outflow to 10 km/hr and easing as day progresses. 3000ft winds northeast to 14 km/hr and easing to light and variable post 12:00. Paragliding Seattle - north outflow valley winds to 25 km/hr, easing to 15 km/hr in afternoon. 3000ft winds east to 25 km/hr and easing to light and variable post 13:00.  Marginal day for paragliding with outflow and lee-side conditions persisting at most sites until at least mid-day. Bellingham and Pemberton are best bets due to less influence from outflow.

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Pemberton:-2.7C/1000ft lapse rate: advanced.  Wait for outflow and catabatic conditions to end. P2 pilots at Mackenzie 11:00-14:00 with P4 conditions 14:00-19:00. Great day for Pemberton as Whistler express cancelled due to outflow.  Chances to fly 80:20.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: -1.5C/1000ft lapse rate: novice. P2 pilots 11:00-20:00 at Blanchard. Wait for north wind aloft and catabatic flows to end and sea-breeze to overpower. Chances to paraglide 90:10.

3. Paragliding Chilliwack: -2.5C/1000ft lapse rate: intermediate. Caution: lee-side conditions likely to persist at Woodside until mid afternoon and then moderate lapse rate could make for rough conditions. P3 intermediate pilots better to go to Bridal 13:00-19:00.  Paragliding chances 50:50.
