Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather synopsis, based on 04:00 forecasts. High pressure with mixed skies: low pressure to NW brings change late in the day. Proximity of jet stream makes for unpredictable and gusty winds. Paragliding Vancouver - 3000ft winds aloft SE to 15 km/hr becoming light and variable through 22:00. Forecast is suspect: expect increasing strong south west winds as day progresses. Valley winds SW to 15 km/hr. Paragliding Seattle - 3000 ft winds aloft SW to 15 km/hr to 16:00. Ground stations in Bellingham and Seattle calling for 15 km/hr SW and W winds, respectively.  OK day for paragliding early, watch for potential early front arrival, over development and strong gusty SW winds as the day progresses.

1. Chilliwack Paragliding: lapse -2.8C/1000ft: advanced. Watch for increasing wind in the day and potential early front arrival. P2 novice paragliding 08:00-11:00. Advanced paragliding conditions 12:00-20:00. Chances 70/30 early 30/70 late.

2. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.2: novice. Novice paraglider pilots 08:00-12:00. Intermediate conditions 12:00-20:00. Chances 70/30 early 50/50 late.

3. Paragliding Seattle: lapse -2.1: novice. Novice paraglider pilots 08:00-12:00 with intermediate paragliding 12:00-20:00. Watch for increasing wind an lapse rate as day progresses. Paragliding chances 70/30 early, 50/50 late. 

4. Paragliding Pemberton: lapse -2.8: advanced. Watch for Whistler Express wind and strong conditions late in the day. P2 novice paragliding 08:00-11:00 with advanced paragliding 12:00-20:00. Chances 70/30 early 30/70 late. 

5. Paragliding Vancouver: lapse -2.3: novice. Watch for strong west wind late in the day. Grouse Mountain Flying Team only, advanced P4 paraglider pilots. Chances 60/40.

6. Paragliding Whistler: lapse -2.9: advanced. Watch for strong conditions late in day and possible early front arrival. Whistler team advanced P4 paraglider pilots only. Chances 50/50 early, 10/90 late.
