Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

iParaglide Right Site Paragliding Weather summary based on 05:00 forecasts. Mild high pressure with mostly sunny skies.  Paragliding Vancouver: winds aloft at 3000ft forecast as NW at 19 km/hr to 11:00 and then reducing to 15 km/hr to 22:00.  Fraser valley winds forecast as NW to 15 km/hr.  Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast as N at 10km/hr becoming light and variable post 16:00. Ground stations in Bellingham and Seattle calling for W and NW winds, respectively, to 16 km/hr. OK day for advanced paragliding, with a high lapse rate.    

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.4C/1000ft: intermediate.  Novice paraglider pilots 09:00-13:00 and 17:00-20:00. Chances 90/10.

2. Paragliding Seattle: lapse -2.9: advanced. Tiger mountain for P2 Novice paraglider pilots 08:00-12:00 and 18:00-21:00 with advanced paragliding 12:00-18:00. Chances 80/20.

3. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -3.2: advanced.  Early cloud burning through to sun makes for high instability. P3 intermediate conditions 10:00-12:00 becoming P4 advanced paragliding conditions due to high lapse rate 12:00-19:00. Chances 70/30.

4. Paragliding Vancouver: Lapse -3.0: advanced. Grouse Mountain Flying Team only, advanced P4 paraglider pilots. Chances 70/30.

5. Paragliding Pemberton: lapse -3.7: extreme.  Mixed skies today in Pemberton with large temperature differentials.  Mackenzie for P3 intermediate paraglider pilots 09:00-11:00 with advanced paragliding 11:00- 20:00. Chances 60/40.

6. Paragliding Whistler: lapse -3.9: extreme.  Caution for very strong conditions. Whistler team advanced P4 paraglider pilots only. Chances 50/50.
