Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 2,000 paragliding students in our 27 years of operation.

 

We are the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and creating a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Paragliding Weather summary based on 06:00 forecasts. High pressure established, yielding clear skies. Recent cold weather creating catabatic flows and amplifying outflow. Vancouver paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast to 10:00 as E to 15 km/hr switching to SE to 18 km/hr through 21:00.  Fraser River Valley ground stations forecasting valley winds E reducing to light and variable as day progresses. Seattle paragliding: winds aloft at 3000 ft forecast as S to 10 km/hr through 16:00. Ground stations in Bellingham & Seattle calling for light and variable winds.  Good day for P4 advanced paraglider pilots. 

iParaglide Right Site Ranking:

1. Paragliding Bellingham: lapse -2.3C/1000 ft: Intermediate.  South wind and intermediate lapse rate should make Blanchard ideal for P3 intermediate pilots today 10:00 on. Chances 90/10.

2. Paragliding Chilliwack: lapse -3.0C/1000ft: Advanced.  E wind aloft may be problematic until the seabreeze establishes. Wait for outflow to end, monitor ground stations.  Narrow window for P2s 11:00 may be possible then watch for strong conditions at Woodside with strong lapse rate.  Advanced P4 pilots only 13:00- 17:00. Chances 60/40.

3. Paragliding Seattle: lapse -3.0: advanced. Strong lapse rate and south wind aloft favor Tiger mountain for epic paragliding today, advanced paraglider pilots only. Chances 80/20. 

4. Paragliding Vancouver: Lapse -2.5: Intermediate. Watch for southeast winds aloft. Grouse Mountain Flying Team only, advanced P4 paraglider pilots.  Chances 70/30. 

5. Paragliding Pemberton: lapse -2.7: advanced. Watch for southeast winds aloft.  Advanced P4 pilots snowshoe and paraglide at Mackenzie. Chances 50/50.

6. Paragliding Whistler:  lapse -2.7: advanced. Watch for southeast winds aloft.  Whistler Paragliding team Advanced P4 members only.   Chances 30/70.
