Top Gun Flight School

At iParaglide Top Gun Flight School, we take pride in having taught over 1900 paragliding students in our 26 years of operation.

We are the the longest running school based in Metro Vancouver. Due to our central location, we are the only school that flies all of the relevant kiting parks, training hills and mountains within a 3 hour radius of Vancouver.  This empowers pilots to get to know the key training and flying spots early, optimizes and accelerates learning, and allows them to grow into great future pilots.  

We have the reputation of being an industry leader with an emphasis on engineered safety systems, quality instruction, the finest equipment and a positive learning environment for fun and empowering flying.

We offer the highest level of accreditation, with Senior HPAC and Advanced USHPA paragliding instructors, who coach from first flight to expert paraglider pilots and teach and qualify new paragliding instructors.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton area paragliding weather forecast.

Transitioning pressure brings mixed skies and precipitation, while jet stream near overhead increases instability.

YVR winds aloft at 3000 ft west to 30 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.8C/1000ft: advanced P4 conditions. 

SEA winds aloft at 3000 ft southeast to 20 km/hr. Lapse rate -3.0C/1000ft: advanced P4 conditions. 

Unpredictable day with 40-60% POP, strong lapse rate and jet stream increasing instability of system.

Weather forecast for paraglider pilots in the Vancouver, Chilliwack, Bellingham, Seattle, Whistler & Pemberton areas, based on data available at 07:00.

Low immediately northwest brings instability, mostly cloudy skies, scattered showers, high lapse rate and risk of thunderstorm in select areas.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft south to 13 km/hr becoming southeast to 26 km/hr 37km/hr. Lapse rate -3.1C/1000ft: XXX unstable.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft southwest to 19km/hr. Lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft: intermediate.

Clouds, showers, high lapse rate and possibility of thunderstorm make for unpredictable conditions. Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, Bellingham and Seattle areas not recommended for paragliding today.

Frontal passage brings heavy rain throughout.

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft southwest to 37km/hr and easing as day progresses. Lapse rate -1.8C/1000ft: novice.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft southwest to 39km/hr and easing to 19 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft: intermediate.

Heavy rainfall warning in effect in most areas, excepting Seattle. Instability due to front passage. Vancouver, Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, Bellingham and Seattle areas are not recommended for paragliding today.

Transitioning pressure, with low to far northwest, brings mostly cloudy skies and rain periods with possible sunny breaks, and breezy southwest winds. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft southwest and increasing to 30 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft: novice.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft southwest to 41km/hr easing to 31 km/hr and southing as day progresses. Lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft: intermediate.

Post and Pre-frontal conditions back to back with lots of moisture delivery. Too undstable to offer predictibility. Vancouver, Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, Bellingham and Seattle areas are not recommended for paragliding today.

Low pressure to northwest brings southeast to southwest winds, increasing cloud and precipitation as the day progresses. 

YVR 3000 ft winds aloft southeast and increasing to 28 km/hr. Lapse rate -2.4C/1000ft: intermediate.

SEA 3000 ft winds aloft south and becoming southwest to 39 km/hr.  Lapse rate -2.6C/1000ft: intermediate.

Vancouver, Chilliwack, Whistler, Pemberton, Bellingham and Seattle areas are not recommended for paragliding today.
